PETER PAN,
THE PANTOMIME

All children, except one, grow up… Here’s the story, who’s who, and how a traditional Christmas panto tells it.

This Christmas

PETER PAN
IN ST KILDA

Peter Pan, A Traditional Christmas Pantomime, plays The National Theatre in St Kilda from 20 to 24 December 2026, our first season in Melbourne. It’s the story you know, told the panto way: laugh-out-loud comedy, audience participation, dazzling costumes, hit songs and festive fun, for all ages.

The Story

OFF TO
NEVERLAND

Join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy and the Darling children on an unforgettable journey to Neverland, where pirates, Lost Boys, mermaids and magical adventures await.

Will Peter Pan defeat Captain Hook once and for all? Will the Darling children find their way home? And, most importantly… do you believe in fairies?

Who’s Who

MEET THE
NEVERLAND CREW

The Hero

PETER PAN

The boy who never grows up.

The Fairy

TINKER BELL

Peter’s fairy, and the reason for the big question: do you believe in fairies?

The Family

WENDY & THE DARLINGS

The Darling children, off to Neverland and hoping to find their way home.

The Villain

CAPTAIN HOOK

With his pirates. Every panto needs someone to boo, and Hook is the one Peter has to beat.

The Panto Way

PANTO OR
MUSICAL?

Our Peter Pan is a traditional Christmas pantomime. There are hit songs, but the audience is part of the show: you boo the villain, warn the hero and shout back at the stage. Panto is the one kind of theatre where that’s good manners.

A good panto works on two levels: magic and slapstick for the kids, and cheeky jokes that sail right over their heads for the grown-ups. New to all of it? Here’s what a pantomime is, from the dame to “he’s behind you!”.

Zealous Productions has staged a traditional Christmas pantomime at the Regal Theatre in Perth every December since 2021. Perth audiences first met our Peter Pan at the Regal back in December 2022. This year it flies to Melbourne for our first season there. (Back in Perth, our panto this Christmas is Rapunzel at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco.)
